Faith is such a strange thing. And a rather hard thing, indeed.
One that the enemy likes to capitalise on.
We humans are so used to trusting tangible things.
'I have to see it, feel it, to believe it.'
As the saying goes.
And having faith is the complete opposite of that. It goes against every common sense that our fleshly body and mind are used to.
Sometimes, the brief sense of incongruity can even confuse us.
We know salvation is a miracle from God and, for most of time, that is a memory stamped in stone in our minds. But the mind is tricky.
And the favourite dwelling place of the enemy.
Has it ever happened to you? You have a hard grip on your faith; you hold on with a death grip and believe with your all.
But for brief moments, you felt like it was a dream.
Was what happened real? Was I dreaming? Is this even reality...?
Until your mind snaps back into place and the trauma etched into your body reminds you that none of it was a dream.
You were dying but were saved. And your body remembers that. Your mind too.
No matter how much the enemy tries to make you doubt your salvation; it cannot.
The suffering was literally etched into you.
And maybe that is why God allowed the suffering caused by the enemy. Because He knows that only that sobering pain would keep us anchored in Him and give you a glimpse of what awaits if you if you do not choose the Light.
And let one thing be clear; it is the enemy who causes suffering.
Not God.
God allows it to a certain degree for reasons known only to Him.
Everytime you blame God for the suffering the enemy gave you, that wretched thing rejoices in depraved joy.
Continuing on; let us be real.
Most of us would have taken the help for granted; say 'thank you', be grateful for a moment and then forget Him and go about the next sin at the next breath.
But 'once bitten, twice shy.'
Most only learn the lesson when they have been badly burnt. That is literally the only way for a lot of people to maintain discipline.
Allowing the enemy to attack us to a certain degree make us grow and keep our conscience on Him.
Without suffering, a lot of souls would have been eternally lost to Him. And God doesn't want to lose any of His children. He wants all of us to be at His side.
But the flesh wants what IT wants. And the enemy waits patiently in a corner to slowly grow a seed of rebellion.
The seed of the tree of the seven deadly sins.
Some grow fruit of only one particular sin.
Others?
Grow them all.
And they don't even realise it. Because media has slowly made it to be entertainment. A sensational thing that inspires awe or a sensual thing to tease the dirtiest fantasies.
Walked into a bookstore last week. Was just browsing through when it caught my eye.
And not in a good way.
An entire series on the seven deadly sins. Accompanied by the title of king.
I didn't know whether to laugh or descend into worry.
People are actively being desentisised to the true horror of those sins. There is a reason they are called deadly sins.
They were used as cautionary tales in the past. Now, they are being used in romance stories. Sexualised romance stories.
I don't think that most realise how insidious the enemy is.
But he is.
And I know most would think to themselves, 'there is no harm in reading those types of stories. As long as I am not doing it. It is innocent.'
It is not.
It is opening the door for the enemy to lure you into a false sense of security until you find yourself becoming that which you thought 'innocent'.
That is how it all begins.
The enemy fell due to pride. And pride is most of the time the beginning of it all. And it is the precursor that gently nourishes the other sinful fruits to form.
Pride, envy, greed, lust, wrath, sloth and gluttony.
All of these are dangerous.
Some to the point of leading you to destroy others. Or, to destroy yourself.
He is not picky.
And they each call to each other. Like magnets.
And the combos?
Absolutely deadly. Make shivers go down your spine.
Pride and greed.
Wrath and envy.
Glutonny and sloth.
Lust and greed.
Those are horrifying pairs.
In my humble opinion, sloth is the silent killer one. But each one of those are bad. Really bad when exhibited in a human.
Some of you may have had encounters or were victims of people of such fruits.
It is wretched thing to behold, isn't it?
So, please do not fall asleep to the horrors of those sins.
Life is short and temporary.
And seeing all the disasters happening one after another, it looks like time is running out.
The end seems near.
Repent and come to Jesus Christ before it is too late.
He is the only way; the truth and the life.
It doesn't cost you anything!
You just have to come to Him as you are with a sincere heart. He will meet you where you are.
Do not close your eyes to the things happening around you and think that it is just a freak phenomenon. Do not listen to the lies that say everything is alright and that God doesn't exist.
God is real. Just as real as the warmth of the sun on your skin, all the neurons in your body, the flowering trees that give fruits, the rain that waters the earth and your heart pumping the blood of life.
Do not be let astray by false doctrines. Always refer to His word.
Because the enemy has come to deceive as many as he can to drag them into hell with him.
If he is going down, well, you bet he is going to do his best to bring those that God loves down with him.
Because that is his ultimate goal. He is already a defeated foe. A cornered wretched thing.
He cannot fight God directly.
So, the only way to hurt God is to destroy the souls of His beloved children.
Because, whereas for the enemy there is no redemption, for us there is.
All through His Son, Jesus.
He gave His beloved Son as a sacrifice for us.
Do not take that for granted.
Do not waste that most precious gift.
And do not mock it.
Because God is not mocked.
And His loving anger is something to fear.
And I think that is what most forget and go on their merry way.
God is love; long suffering.
But his anger and judgement?
Those are to be feared and respected.
